II. Community service event – short notice!
- Saturday, Dec. 10 meet in Lot 24 (parking lot next to UCR police station) by 12:45pm with Young at Heart
- Sunrise Assisted Living – visit senior citizen homes and spend a day with elderly individuals
- Activities include playing games, talking, and sharing stories with the elderly
III. Member of the Quarter
- Member(s) of the quarter will be announced at the end of the quarter on our chapter website at www.psichi.ucr.edu
- Check our chapter website regularly for more info on what’s going on with our chapter
IV. Psi Chi t-shirts
- Polo shirt or t-shirt?
- Blue or white?
- Design?
- “HOW DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL?”
- We can have silly definitions for common psychology terms. For instance on the front or back we could have:
New Definitions in Psychology /or Glossary of Terms: (<---something like that)
*Classical Conditioning--Washing your hair while listening to Mozart
*Transference- Changing schools
*Superego- A waffle with special powers
*Aggressive Drive- road rage
- “ I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING” or “NO, I CANT TELL YOU WHAT YOU ARE THINKING”
- Maybe we could do something with a Likert scale. Maybe have a statement like "I am proud to be a member of Psi Chi " and have Strongly agree circled.
- We can copy the homeless mouse idea but use Pavlov's dog holding a sign that says "Will Drool For Food."
- A picture of Freud in a slip

- African/Black Psychology lecture series every Wednesday from 6-9pm

- Requirements: active membership in Psi Chi for at least one quarter
- All positions (except president) need to be filled for next year
- Available positions: vice president, secretary, treasurer, membership coordinator, social coordinator, community service chair, historian, public relations officer, and peer advisor officer
- Research Conference?
- Society for Personality & Social Psychology (SPSP) Conference in Palm Springs January 26-28
- To apply for a conference fee waiver, fill out form by January 1 at http://www.spsp.org/divreg.htm if you are an undergraduate of an underrepresented group ( underrepresented groups are defined as ethnic and racial minorities; first-generation college students; lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered students; and students with a physical disability ).

Are there any suggestions for keynote speakers, that members would like to see at the end of the year banquet?
Current suggestions: Alberta Bandura, Kathy Pesdek (not sure about sp)
What kind of fundraisers would members like to participate in?
Suggestions given: TV tapings (Drew Carey, Daily Show)
Possible Community Service for this year: Homeless Shelters, Psych. Institutes, Adopt a street, tutoring at cybrary, Young at heart
Graduate school workshop Wed. Oct., 26 from 5-6 pm
